Some Benefits of the Martial Arts

6. Tap into ancient philosophies for health and overall success in life.

7. Learn “who” you are and what your capable of achieving

these are important attributes of training in the martial ways. if your not touching on these within the realm of your training i would have to say your in the wrong place learning from the wrong people. There must be balance. Balance in your training, being fluid in all ranges not just one ( weapons, kicking, punching, and grappling). Balanced in developing your mindset and awareness not just a fight club or competition orientated sport. the martial arts were never intended to be a sport they were a means of survival and self defense. i can understand the sport i know people are competitive by nature and that’s okay but never forget there are no tap outs in the street. i lean more to the perspective that the martial arts is like carrying a concealed weapon. I’m not going to give it away until i need to and if i do pull my weapon its with dangerous ill willed intentions. The way you train is the way you are going to fight. So you need to ask yourself? what is it i want to learn raw reality, sport, or hopefully a balance of both :) you can train with intent and still have fun. You can still allow time for the “tap” out session its all good just keep things balanced.
