Sun tzu said to know yourself and to know your enemy is to not know defeat… so i wanted to give some information that i teach people when i teach self-defense classes usually geared for women however, it applies to all who want to be informed.

1. want easy prey. looking for a weakness and opportunity- a broken window, an unlocked door, a flat tire.

2. rapist profile: 18 to 30 yrs. of age, married with children, employed, heterosexual, and from All walks of life.

3. They always have a plan.

4. The majority of of men who assault women neither want nor expect any kind of serious resistance.

5. most abusers have been abused.

6. 40% of sexual assault goes straight to the ground.

7. 80% of sexual assult is verbal domination.

8. Power is the prime motivating force, they need to be in control and want to see fear.

9.Most rapes occur in a residence.

10. most rapes are committed by someone the victim knows or has met.

knowledge is POWER..i hope this gives some insight into how you would approach your self defense training… ask yourself these 3 questions… whats worth fighting for? whats not worth fighting for?  what are my boundaries?

i agree with that but i also see the classical methods and tradition as the template of movement,tactics, and strategy upon which to adapt and modify to ones own self. A  way in which to create your own  ”fingerprint”, that’s why i call the way i teach the martial arts the “fingerprint method”

You cannot learn the art of arnis in 3 easy lessons..nor in attending 3 seminars… its actually requires a qualified teacher and hard work…which means you must practice.. sorry to disappoint you..

and all those three day instructors classes…are you really serious?  that’s not any better..
